At the primary level, from the 1st grade through the 5th grade, EFAC students enrolled in the bilingual program follow the full American curriculum and fifteen hours per week in the French section (at a rate of three hours per day). The program follows the guidelines of the French Ministry of Education.

Students study subjects from both programs in parallel except the sciences, which are taught exclusively in the US section. The French teachers regularly check that terminology has been assimilated in French and invite students to present their projects in French. Over the years students learn very naturally to switch between the programs and to utilize the appropriate learning methods acquired in either section. They develop an intellectual acuity and independence to help them acquire knowledge. Students follow the French program at the same rate as their peers at school in France.

As the ratio of students per teacher is low, teachers are able to address the individual needs of each student.
